What kind of person I want to be?

Do you ever wonder about that kind of question ? even a while in your thought?
Or maybe about this question..

What kind of person am I?

I sometimes read that question, I don’t remember where I read that question but to be honest, is that really matter? Is that a big problem? How can you don’t know yourself? Well, when I am in junior high school I used to think like that. But now, it’s totally different.

Lately I’ve been wondering so much about this matter. But more likely to know more about myself. Yes, I live with myself for 19 years old and still counting until now, I live with my body, I live with my thought every single day. But that’s now mean I know everything about myself.

And knowing what kind of person are you is important for me. It gives you information about what will you behave in facing any kind of situation. When you know in particular situation you will act like not it supposed to be, you can warn yourself and change that if it possible. The problem is that not easy as it seems. Maybe it’s a part of adolescence. According to wikipedia, it is a transitional stage of physical and psychological development that generally occurs during the period from puberty to legal adulthood.

I feel like many things happened to me and it bring a lot of changes in me, especially in my emotions. I am more to be sensitive and highly value myself. So when someone say anything like “okay, if you can’t do that project, let me do it by my own” whoaaa.. it boost my energy to prove he’s wrong. I am easily get irritated with others. More likely to have my own impression over someone and how they behave. And with that matters, it drive me to have more things to think. I like to imagine like creating a simulation. If I say blah.. then they must be like this and that.. but it kinda in a more negative way because I create a simulation mostly in a worst probability that might happened. Because of that it seems like more difficult than it should be.

Guys, if you also experienced like me, I think all of your activity might be more stressful.

So please, before it gets worsen, try to think more then relax.

Every time you wake up from your imagination about things that might be happened, try to tell yourself (I suggest you to “talk” not just thinking) like a simple question..

“why you can know things will be happened just the way your imagination create it?” (even you create a good simulation like when you are hoping about something in positive way, it might not happened exactly like that)

“Thinking about a negative version about what might happened just make yourself even more difficult than it will be” (So why prepare to give yourself more burden when you can stay keep calm while facing the truth)

“Sometimes we need to face anything spontaneously” (just give a little bravery to your heart.)

Believe me it’s not going to be easy but it doesn’t mean you can not do it. A little change in you can bring more impact to yourself.

When you have nothing to do, give yourself a reflection.

What kind of person I am?

Well, when it goes to me, the very first thing I notice about myself is I love helping people (disclaimer: I am not trying to be naive, but according to me, that’s the thing that matter the most)

Like when I can help someone, it gives me a “kepuasan pribadi”. That’s satisfaction after helping someone can bring me peace when I do my own task or job. I don’t know what is the correlation but that’s what happen to me. The problem is lately I feel that the desire to help someone sometimes conflicts with the urge to do my own task. In many case I did someone’s job before mine. That’s make me to be a procrastinators sometimes (haha I think we all can be that). The thought that I will treat people as good as that make me have a perception that everybody can treat the same thing to me. But the fact that is just something that must be fixed. Not in those person, but in me. Yes, I do realize that everybody have their own unique way to behave and think. Just because you will do such thing to someone doesn’t mean that they will do the same thing to you. And that’s normal.

So if you more likely to behave like me, I learn how to avoid that ...

It’s 2017, think about yourself more than others. It not drive you to be a selfish person but it kinds like changes you a little bit to value yourself, to remember about your goals, to make you more responsible about your own task, and to avoid disapointment. J

And by this, I hope I can learn about myself more so that I can set what kind of person I want to be next..

My First Year in Uni

“How is the life of a college student?”

The thought of what is the life of a college student haunts me at night when I couldn’t sleep. Honestly, my senior high school life is just very complicated for me. Once, very complicated. A lot of things happened and they went by so fast. People say that in senior high school is the best memories that they have, but maybe it’s just not work for me? But over all, I think those things made me just the way I am now. Without the ups and downs my life will never be like chitato chips (*bhaak)

                Well, now I know what is like to be a college student, exactly an accounting student (*anyone else? =D )

                Firstly, I have to pack all of my stuff because I’m moving to the south of Bali. Yap! I will move to Jimbaran. That means I will stay in a boarding house. And most important thing, that means I have my own room!!! Whoaaahhh.. just like what I always dream!! I don’t know, like almost my friends say that they will miss their family, they will miss their room, they will miss their house or other stuff. But those thought never across my mind. Ya, I know, its not because I don’t miss my family when I’m far away from them (the fact that I miss them so bad!!) but I just too busy thinking what will I do with my room. The other part of me love being alone, I like having time with myself. Its like I can do what I want without anyone will disturb me, I can eat in my bed which is my mother will yell at me if doing that, I can do a movie marathon all day which is my sister sometimes disturb me if she know that or sometime she spoil the film, I can go to the market at 10 pm which is my father would never allow me to do so. Now, I can do all things that I never do before. But yes, I still think if it necessary or not knowing that I’m here because of the college not because I’m in a vacation.

                Second things I love about college is the orientation. Actually I never like the orientation thingy or Ospek. But it is a must so like it or not I must to take it. I got a lot of task, essay, resume but I enjoy it although it cuts my sleep time. I find the silver lining about this event, that we can make friends before we attend the class which is helping us in many ways. Here is when I make an essay about the Airport Ngurah Rai.

End of orientation lv.Uni

End of Inisiasi Akuntansi 2016

When the orientation event is over, it’s time to start the class. I remember the first class was Introduction to Accounting. Firstly, I take the test to join ELC(English Language Class) which is like an international class. And praised to my mother’s prayer that with her blessing I can passed the test. So in the first semester there are 4 subjects in English, which are introduction to accounting, introduction to microeconomics, introduction to business and statistics. First impression about the class, I think that all members is easy going, we learn together, and I love the class discussion because we truly learn about the case or the chapter.

                I would like to say thank you from my deepest heart to Fitri and Agung. I know Agung before Fitri actually, Agung used to be a captain when I join GET (Gema Equilibrium Termuda). He’s humble at first, but he’s an evil when you get to know him (nyahaha). I know Fitri when I join an interview to ELC class. She’s so kindhearted, whenever I don’t get the point of the chapter she tries to explain me. Without them, I don’t have the energy to passed this semester. And here I am waiting for the result. Hope that I can get a good result tho ^^

PS: my first semester in uni is so much better, thanks to God that I can surrounded with people who can inspire me a lot :')

It was an exhausted moment tho, but it worth the wait!! The fact that I am an uni student makes me realize there's so many things different from high school life~

CHEETAH

Did you know that the cheetah is the fastest animal in the world? When cheetahs are about to run their claws dig into the ground like cleats. It helps the cheetah build up its speed to catch its prey.

An adult cheetahs fur could be yellow or a tan colored coat of fur. The adult cheetah may have solid round spots or oval black spots. They have black tear marks from the eyes to the mouth. They have orange eyes. Their paws are almost dog like! The cheetah has a long body and long legs. Cheetahs have claws that stick out all the time. Other cat's claws don't always stick out. Cheetahs have long tails because it will help them make accurate turns. Male cheetahs are up to 7 feet long and female cheetahs are slightly smaller. People call the cheetah the most elegant cat of all. 

Cheetahs are mainly found in Sub-Saharan Africa and found in partly open savannas. Some cheetahs live in south eastern Asia and some parts of India, Iran and Afghanistan. Things that cheetahs like to have around them are tall grass, bushes, and large plants. They like to live in a sub- dessert. Cheetahs don't like to live in forests or jungles because trees would stop them from using their speed. 

Cheetahs are carnivores. They eat some small animals. Most cheetahs hunt in the morning or late afternoon. Cheetahs get their food by first scanning the countryside from a tree limb or on top of a termite mound. Cheetahs use their sense of smell not their eyesight to catch their food. Some food that cheetahs eat is small antelope, impalas and gazelles. Some larger animals that cheetahs eat are warthogs, oryx, rabbits and birds. Cheetahs mainly eat antelope and Cheetah's favorite foods are gazelles. When cheetahs eat they have to eat fast because animals like lions, leopards, vultures and jackals may sometimes take away its kill. When cheetahs find a kill it won't sneak up on it they will chase after it. When its prey is caught the cheetah would bite its neck so the animal would die instantly. 

Cheetahs have a lot of enemies. Some of their enemies are lions, leopards, hyenas, vultures and also jackals and some wild dogs. There are some human ones to like poachers and hunters. 

Cheetah cubs are very beautiful. When they are first born they have silky gray hair also with long wooly hair. Their silky gray hair lasts about 4 months. When cubs are born they are born blind but then their eyesight becomes even better than before. When the cubs are at the age of 3 months they don't drink milk anymore. Sometimes when female cheetahs are going to have cubs 4 to 6 cubs are born. Female cheetahs only raise their cubs for about a year! 

 Cheetahs can be friendly and playful but when it is hunting season they become very serious. Cheetahs have perfect eyesight. Did you know that the fastest a cheetah can go is 110 miles per hour and a cheetah could build speeds up to 45 miles per hour from a standing start! Most racecars can't do that. Some sounds that a cheetah can make are purrs, barks, growls and hisses and chirps but they do not roar.

Cheetahs are endangered because they are losing a lot of their habitat. Some poachers are breaking hunting laws and some Africa farmers kill cheetahs. People want skins for their cloths. There are a lot of people coming and a lot of cheetahs dying. Some hunters capture cheetahs for zoos! 

Cheetahs are very interesting animals. The name cheetahs comes from an Indian word meaning spotted one. When cheetahs are running it looks like they are flying but when cheetah's run their feet are mostly in the air. When cheetahs live in the wild they only live up to 8 years of age but when they live in the zoo they live up to 10 years of age!

Conditional Sentence

(Kalimat Pengandaian)

Kalian pasti pernah mengandaikan sesuatu seperti misalnya “jika aku bertemu dia, aku akan memperkenalkan diri” atau “jika aku punya uang, aku akan membeli sepatu”. Nah kalimat itu dalam bahasa Inggris disebut Conditional Text atau artinya kalimat pengandaian.

            Conditional sentence adalah complex sentence (kalimat majemuk) yang dibentuk dari subordinate clause yang diawali dengan subordinate conjunction if berupa condition (syarat) dan main clause berupa result/consequence (hasil).

            Conditonal sentence ini fungsinya untuk menyatakan tentang kemungkinan terjadi atau situasi imajinasi. Terdapat 4 tipe conditional sentence. Kondisi yang digambarkan pada conditional sentence type 0 berupa fakta dan selalu terjadi. Conditional sentence type 1 merupakan kondisi yang mungkin terpenuhi. Conditional sentence type 2 kondisinya hampir tidak mungkin terpenuhi. Conditional sentence type 3 kondisinya sudah tidak mungkin untuk dipenuhi. Agak ribet ya, tapi nanti kalo udah ngerti formulanya gampang kok (aku juga awalnya sulit ngerti hehe).

            Formula Conditional Sentence

            Tiap – tiap conditional sentence memiliki formula tersendiri. Tetapi secara umum, rumus kalimat pengandaian ini adalah sebagai berikut.

  Rumus conditional sentence pada tiap – tiap tipe :

0	if + simple present, simple present
1	if + simple present, will + bare infinitive
2	if + simple past, would/could/might + bare infinitive
3	if + past perfect, would/should/could/might have + past participle

            Conditional sentence type 0

            Conditional sentence type 0 is used for actions that are always true. Itu berarti keadannya bersifat fakta yang pasti akan terjadi bila kamu melakukannya atau bisa juga bersifat kejadian alamiah.

            Function : We use zero conditional to refer to general truth. The time is now or always and the situation is real and possible

Contohnya : If you heat water, it boils. Iya pastikan? Kalau kamu memanaskan air, air itu pasti akan mendidih (dan gak mungkin akan membeku wkwk).

            Cara ku agar lebih mudah memahami tiap tipe conditional sentence adalah dengan memisah kalimat tersebut (karena ada pertemuan pasti ada perpisahan *lah?). Gini maksudnya, kita pisahin kalimat utama (main clause) dengan kalimat if clause (pokoknya yang ada kata ‘if’ hehe)..

            “I am sleepy at work, If I sleep late” (kalimat positif; menyatakan kebiasaan)

            Main Clause     : I am sleepy at work, (simple present)

            If Clause          : If I sleep late (if + simple present)

            Meaning           : I am sleepy at work because I sleep late (artinya tetap sama)

            Terus gimana kalo kalimat if clausenya didepan ? Kalo udah dibagi 2 seperti ini kalimatnya gak akan pusing kok :D

“If people eat too much, they get fat.”

” (kalimat negatif; menyatakan fakta)

            Main Clause     : They get fat. (simple present)

            If Clause          : If people eat too much. (if + simple present)

            Meaning           : People eat too much so that they get fat.”

           

            Contoh lainnya :

• If you touch a fire, you get burned.
• People die if they don't eat.
• You get water if you mix hydrogen and oxygen.
• Snakes bite if they are scared
• If babies are hungry, they cry

Negatif if + condition

Rumus: if…not dapat digantikan dengan unless.

Contoh conditional sentence: if…not dan unless:

Dengan menggunakan rumus negatif if, contoh conditional sentence seperti di bawah ini.

• If the students do not understand, they will raise their hand to ask.
• Unless the students understand, they will raise their hand to ask.

Conditional sentence type 1

            Conditional sentence is used for real and possible situations. Sesuatu yang kemungkinan terjadinya tinggi.

            Function : We use first conditional to refer to possible conditions and its probable result. The time is present or future and the situation is real.

Contohnya : If I meet him, I will introduce myself. Jika saya bertemu dia, saya “akan” memperkenalkan diri.

“If I miss the train today, I will drive to work”

Main Clause    : I will drive to work (will + bare infinitive / V1)

If Clause         : If I miss the train today (present tense)

Meaning          :I miss the train today so that I will drive to work atau I will drive to work because I miss the train today.

            Contoh lainnya :

1. Possibilities

You’ll miss the train if you don’t hurry!

If I miss the train today, I’ll drive to work.

I will pass my math exam if I study hard.

If it rains, we won’t have our picnic.

If you stay out in the rain too long, you’ll get sick!

My mom will be angry if I’m late tonight!

2. Superstitions

If you see a penny on the ground and pick it up, it will bring you good luck!

If you break a mirror, you will have 7 years of bad luck!

If you rub a rabbit’s foot, it will bring you good luck!

If you walk under a ladder, you will have bad luck!

You will have bad luck if you open an umbrella indoors.

3. Future plans

If you’re going shopping today, I’ll come with you!

If you can get me a ticket, I’ll go to the concert with you!

If you see Ken later today, will you tell him to call me?

4. Warnings and threats

If you don’t come to my birthday party, I’ll never speak to you again.

If you eat too much ice cream, you’ll make yourself sick!

If you say that again, I will hurt you!

Conditional sentence type 2

Conditional sentence type 2 is used for unreal or impossibele things. Berarti sudah tidak ada kemungkinan untuk terjadi.

Function : We use second conditional to refer hypothetical condition and its probable result. The time is now or any time and the situation is unreal.

Contohnya : “If it rained tomorrow, I would sleep all day.” Jika besok hujan, saya akan tidur sepanjang hari, akan tetapi maknanya berbanding terbalik. Yakni, besok tidak hujan, saya tidak tidur sepanjang hari.

            "If Jack became rich, he would marry her”

            Main Clause    : He would marry her (would/could/might + bare infinitive)

            If Clause         : If Jack became rich (if + simple past)

            Meaning          : Jack doesn’t become rich so he will not marry her (present tense ; will + bare infinitive) Jadi kalau bentuk Conditional sentence type 2-nya positive maka artinya pasti negative dan kembali ke bentuk conditional senctence type 1 yang menggunakan present tense (if clause) dan will + bare infinitive (main clause)

            Contoh lainnya..

            Things in the future that are probably not going to be true. Maybe I'm imagining some dream for example.

• If I won the lottery, I would buy a big house.(I probably won't win the lottery)
• If I met the Queen of England, I would say hello.
• She would travel all over the world if she were rich.
• She would pass the exam if she ever studied.(She never studies, so this won't happen)

Something in the present which is impossible, because it's not true. Is that clear? Have a look at the examples:

• If I had his number, I would call him. (I don't have his number now, so it's impossible for me to call him).
• If I were you, I wouldn't go out with that man.
  
  

Conditional sentence type 3

Conditional sentence type 3 is used for unreal past actions. Sesuatu yang sudah gak mungkin terjadi di masa lalu (kayak pepatah bilang, nasi telah menjadi bubur *eh)

Function : we use third conditional to refer to an unreal past condition and its probable past condition and its probable result. The time is past and the situation is contrary to reality

Contohnya: “If you had remembered to invite me, I would have attended your party.” Jika kamu ingat mengundang saya, saya akan hadir di pestamu namun maknanya adalah Kamu tidak ingat mengundang saya jadi saya tidak akan hadir di pestamu.

            If I worked hard, I would have passed the exam

            Main Clause    : I would have passed the exam (would/should/could/might have + past participle)

            If Clause         : If I worked hard (if + past perfect)

            Meaning          : I didn’t work hard so I didn’t past the exam (past tense) Kembali ke bentuk conditional sentence type 2.

            Contoh lainnya..

• If she had studied, she would have passed the exam (but, really we know she didn't study and so she didn't pass)
• If I hadn't eaten so much, I wouldn't have felt sick (but I did eat a lot, and so I did feel sick).
• If we had taken a taxi, we wouldn't have missed the plane
• She wouldn't have been tired if she had gone to bed earlier
• She would have become a teacher if she had gone to university
• He would have been on time for the interview if he had left the house at nine
